About Derek J. Cordier
Mr. Cordier graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and High Distinction Honors. He then went on to Rutgers University School of Law. Mr. Cordier is admitted to the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court and the Federal Middle District Court of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and The Dauphin County Bar Association.
While in law school, Mr. Cordier attended a summer program with Temple Law School in Greece, where he became familiar with international law. After law school, Mr. Cordier became the Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Stephen P. Linebaugh in York County. After a few years of drafting opinions and doing research for Judge Linebaugh, Mr. Cordier opened his own practice at 319 South Front Street in Harrisburg.
The Law Office of Derek J. Cordier handles a diverse range of cases from wills and estates to family law issues and bankruptcy. His pro bono work has included custody, bankruptcy, and citizenship. Mr. Cordier was responsible for one of the first openly gay name changes in Pennsylvania. He is also a founder and a current contributing writer of Alternative Central, a LGBT newspaper serving Central Pennsylvania.
